The Advent candles light the way,
Illuminating the path both night and day.
Preparing for the Christ child’s birth
And bring peace to all the earth.
The third candle that we light
Will give us all three times more sight
Uniting us all in the One
Father, Holy Spirit, Son.

The Advent candles light the way,
Illuminating the path both night and day.
Preparing for the Christ child’s birth
And bring peace to all the earth.
This week the candle burns for hope.
Reaching out towards those who can not cope.
John the Baptist, a lone voice of the day
Is making straight the Royal Highway.

The first candle glows reminding us of creation
When the sun, moon and stars created quite a sensation.
The earth was a formless void where nothing should…
Live or grow- until God said, “It was Good.”
